EMMI began with a simple question:

“What would it take to build an intelligence that understands more than what is explicitly said to it?”

Current AI paradigms excel at predictive text synthesis inside rigid, isolated conversation windows. But human thought does not restart from blank memory every few minutes, nor is it blind to physical surroundings.

EMMI explores the models, distributed architectures, sensory pipelines, and natural interfaces necessary to bridge that gap. We are deliberately building EMMI in the open — testing assumptions, prototyping ambient hardware, and iterating on the fundamentals of perception and memory.
